Resolutions for the new year

Like many I also have a New Years resolution, ok, more than one this year, but really I think my decisions for these resolutions sorta presented itself and made it easy for me to decide that was what I not only needed to do but wanted to do.

One of those resolutions is to eat healthier and do a little more exercise, I know right! But I had a routine checkup and blood work done and my cholesterol is up 20 points, now this could be because I had 2 inner ear infections and being stressed about the yearly pap, mammogram test but I would rather not take the chance of ending up on meds without at least bringing it down myself or trying to anyway. My doctor is the one that suggested this as well, I think she thinks the same that it has to do with stress and sickness. If I don’t do this and I have to take meds than I have nobody to blame but myself for being lazy, if I do all of this and still have to take meds well then that is more than likely genetic so we shall see.

The others mostly has to do with just learning new things and to write more. Again it will be up to me if I fail or succeed and how much I want it. It is really sad when people think that they can do nothing and everything will just fall into their lap and it doesn’t work that way really, you have to do some work.

Fashion And Who You Are

Like most women I enjoy shopping for clothes, shoes, etc. but most think that if you can’t spend a lot of money on clothes than what’s the point. I think people who think this way is missing out on creating a style that is their own, I would much rather have a style of my own than have someone do it for me and I look like a walking advertisement. Don’t get me wrong there are certain things, your basics that you want to spend a little more on because these items you will have for a long time, like a little black dress, nice jacket, dress pants, etc. It’s the little things that can make or break an outfit. If you want to stay current as to what is “in” this time of year there is nothing wrong with looking at magazines for inspiration even tear pages out and take with you when you go shopping, it doesn’t have to be an exact match as far as brand or even color for that matter, everybody has a different skin tone and different colors will look different on each person. One other thing is don’t be afraid to try something on just because of the color or the shape, things look different when they are on hangers you might be surprised at what will look good on you and what won’t, same for other things see what works. When you do go shopping make sure you have a list of items that you need in your closet otherwise you might find a sweater that you love but you have nothing in your closet that works with it and that is where we sometimes get in trouble not with spending too much but also that I don’t have anything to wear problem. If you aren’t sure about clothes and you have a friend or family member that is take them with you!!! If you purchase something that is a set separate them and try them with other things you own, you will be surprised at how many outfits you can have with only a number of items, again if you aren’t sure ask someone who will be honest with you but help you put things together in a way that not only looks great on you but will make you feel great as well.

Halloween

It is that time of year where the leaves turn colors, fall to the ground, cooler weather sets in and fall begins. The month of October is when most celebrate Halloween, some will do this with a party for adults and children, some will just put up decorations and take their children trick or treating and some will just hand out goodies to all the little ones on trick or treat night.

Chakras, What Are They?

Chakras, what is it? We have talked about this before on Your Life Matters and I wanted to share with those that may not have heard the interview(s) or know about chakras.

The definition of chakra is any of the seven major energy centers in the body

The seven energy centers that the definition is referring to is the following:

The first chakra or root chakra located at the base of your tailbone

The second chakra or sacral chakra located in the pelvis area

The third chakra or solar plexus chakra located in navel area

The fourth chakra or heart chakra

The fifth chakra or throat chakra

The sixth chakra or third eye located in the center of your brow

The seventh chakra or crown chakra

There are many books on chakras and on the net.  Two books that you may be interested in reading is Chakras For Beginners by David Pond and The Complete Guide To Chakras by Ambika Wauters, in these books you will find out more about the chakras and how to keep them balanced and what happens when they are not balanced.  If you  want to learn how to meditate as well in order to balance your chakras you should read Meditation For Beginners by Stephanie Clement.

Being a Sensitive

In some of my blogs I have talked about being a sensitive or empath as some would say and I wanted to explain what a sensitive/empath is:

A HSP (Highly Sensitive Person) not only is sensitive to noise, tastes, smells, sounds, moods and emotions of others, pain, etc. but
they also have a special light about them that attracts spirits to them. Some people are born this way (I am one of those) and others become more sensitive
to a degree by doing paranormal investigations. The difference that I have noticed is that for me I have these experiences all the time for others who
also investigate with me only have this happen at  investigations or sometimes during the night, especially around me when a spirit wants my attention.  Everyone will not always be sensitive in every way mentioned above, for ex: they may at times during an investigation feel the emotions or pain of someone passed but not feel those for the living, for me I feel both of the living and the dead. For those that live with someone who is a sensitive that feels others emotions, etc. just be aware that the emotions may not be their own, they could be happy one minute and sad or upset the next. One thing to remember is don’t lie to someone who is a sensitive or empath, we may not be able to prove it but we know all the same and tells us you can’t be trusted about other things either.

The best way I have found to deal with all of this is to listen to music and I need to be outside and if I can’t I exercise, this centers me, not only am I physically able to do things but mentally as well.

Over the next  few days or weeks I want to focus on things like this to help those who may read this and not know about certain things such as chakras, etc.

People In Our Life

I always believe that there are people in our life for a reason, for some they are in our life to teach us lessons and be in our life for only a short time and then there are others who are in our life for a long time, those are the ones that I consider to be more than friends. I had a few days last week where I was really sad and as 1 person stated don’t let anyone put your light out, there was others that came to my side and lifted me up in my time of need. I won’t go into details just know that there is angels in the world you just have to be open to hear the message from the messenger or messengers.

Appreciate What You Have, Including Yourself

Yesterday was just one of those days where I had so many things on my mind, I couldn’t focus on much, I finished the day and hoped that today would be better, well my morning didn’t start out that way, I found out that my little dog that I had at my mom’s house was killed by a motorcycle, she was a sweet little dog and will be missed, I know my mom hated to make that call. As my morning continued along with my many emotions I did contact the library in Osgood,  IN and confirmed that our paranormal group, Professional Paranormal Investigations, will in fact be doing a presentation October 22nd. My excitement was short-lived not because it was cancelled but because my mind was thinking of other things and I realized that even though I am always myself to people I was also doing things to make others happy instead of being true to myself and doing what makes me happy, including writing I hold back at times because of the fact that people judge others when they really don’t know them, I no longer will do that.

I talked yesterday on Facebook about people who keep people at a distance, I know someone like this and  it’s really sad because not only are they cheating loved ones out of love and affection but themself as well. Be aware that there may come a day where you want to be affectionate with someone who has been trying to be affectionate with you, because it’s when you decided you want to and they may just walk away because someone else has captured their heart and is giving them what they want. Appreciate and love what you have today it may be gone tomorrow.

One other thing that I have noticed is that people who say to their loved ones is that they get upset when you keep things to yourself and they say they want you to communicate with them but when you do and it’s about them they get mad and say you are insecure, personally I think it’s just the person is right about what they are feeling and the other person can’t handle the truth. If you are going to be in a relationship with someone make sure you are willing to accept the fact that neither one is perfect and instead of yelling or giving a time limit to talk about something actually listen and help solve the problem, be part of a solution not the problem.

My World Today: Mind and Spirit

As the month of October gets under way normally my days are wonderful, stress free and without worry for the most part, however things are a little crazy at the moment, people who I love and care about are not the people I thought they were. This makes me very sad.

Other than that there is still a lot of activity here in the house, shadows when there shouldn’t be, voices are heard next to where I am sleeping as clear as can be that is on the nights that I sleep, it seems a day or two after a night where I can’t sleep someone passes away, not someone who I know just someone who leaves this world. I think on the night that this happens I need to just wake completely up and just center myself and see what happens or light some candles, incense and just relax. I honestly believe my mind and spirit needs this desperately.

Fitness Foods and Exercise

Time to figure out a plan for the cooler and colder times ahead when I can’t be outside, not only do I need to find ways to exercise my body to the point I am not bored but my mind as well. I have some things in mind but will be working on some journals for each thing so I can keep track of my progress.

I have been watching Dr. Oz lately and really like what he has to say about health issues and foods to eat. I have also recently been looking hard at the way I eat and what I am eating, I have to say it isn’t pretty! Hope to change some of those habits as well and hope to like what I see by the time my birthday rolls around next year!

The Paranormal Picks Up

We thought our summer was busy well the fall is going to be just as busy for us, seems there are more and more people with activity. Speaking of activity we have it in our home as well, we always have things happen before an investigation. The latest being a shadow that was 6 feet tall that I saw in our bedroom next to Steve’s head, before that a mist of something in our room, our dog saw that at the same time as I did. Steve was stepping over a baby gate which he says he cleared only to be pushed, and lest not forget my dog who relieved herself on the bed, which she has never done before, two of the events that happened while I was talking to someone on the phone about activity in their home. Steve seems to think that whatever it is wants my attention but somehow I don’t think so. What are you thoughts?
